Years ago, this painting
won the North Carolina Watercolor Society. The scene is near Patrick County,
Virginia. I was looking around this ramshackle cabin when about a dozen
hound dogs and a fairly inebriated man came out and approached me. I asked
the man if he would mind if I painted his cabin. He replied, "My cabin
don't need paintin'!"
The wagon was not there.
I added it to lead the eye into the composition.
